We are all part of a global community. We look at the news and social media and see the fear, uncertainty, strife, and devastation being caused by wildfires. Seeing this may bring up many feelings and memories for us in Fort McMurray. 

With open hearts and hands we welcome those evacuated to our community of Fort McMurray. To our friends in the NorthWest Territories, Fort Fitzgerald, Hawaii, and all places dealing with these stressors- we pray for your safety and security.

We ask you to bring comfort and strength,
To the people of the Northwest Territories. 
Watch over the families, 
That are being asked to evacuate their homes. 
Guide them safely to communities waiting to help them,
And give them strength in the coming days. 
Send rain down on the territory, 
To aid the firefighters in their work,
To save all that they can from these devastating fires. 
Protect these brave first responders,
And bring an end to these fires,
So that all may return safely to their communities.
